Contributor's comments: We used the term in the 1940s to refer to the men who drove aound the Melbourne suburbs in trucks collecting empty bottles from homes. I do not know how it was spelled, maybe it was Bottle-O.
Contributor's comments: I love using this term around foreigners.. it confuses them a lot.
