The Sydney name for a loaf of bread baked in an enclosed, corrugated loaf tin so that the finished loaf has the shape of a piece of currugated pipe: For a literally round round of sandwiches - use bread from a tank loaf. Compare pipe loaf.
Contributor's comments: In Melbourne the same thing is called a pipe loaf; when I came to Sydney I reminded myself of which name to use by thinking of Sydney having been build on the Tank Stream!

Contributor's comments: They were called "tank loaves" in Toowoomba in the '70s. Not a common choice, but the baker always had them.
