Sport knickers- the pants girls wear over their knickers underneath their sport skirts: I can't wear that skirt to school. I can't find my runners.
Contributor's comments: Runners, aka sandshoes, were sports shoes when I was at school in Melbourne 1956-67. The ultimate in runners were Dunlop Volley OC's. 'Volleys' enjoyed a revival as cheap footwear among uni students in the early 1990's.
