I believe it means a wild dog or brumby, but is used to chastise disobedient children: 'Just wait until I get my hands on you yer little warrigal. I first heard this uttered by a service station worker in outer suburban Melbourne, in relation to some 10 year old boys who had kicked over some garbage bins. I have found it a very useful expression with my own children - I believe it has a small pinch of affection in it, in the same way that 'scamp' has.
